Management Team
Angella Hughes (BMath, EET), President & Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Hughes has over 10 years of senior management experience with Xogen; both as former VP Research & Development and presently as President & CEO. During this time she successfully restructured the former company, Xogen Power Inc., negotiated a Research Collaboration Agreement with the University of Toronto and the Ontario provincial government, obtained a $2 million federal grant from the Government of Canada and formed a consortium comprised of Linde Canada (subsidiary of The Linde Group), University of Toronto, Town of Orangeville and Orangeville Hydro to construct and test Xogen's pilot plant for municipal wastewater treatment. Ms. Hughes was a former Member of the Technical Staff for The Boeing Company (now Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne) in Canoga Park, California for the Rocketdyne Propulsion and Power Division. She held this position for 13 years and was involved in the manufacturing of components for hydrogen/oxygen rocket propulsion systems for the Space Shuttle. Ms. Hughes brings her past experience as well as connections to industry, government and academia to her role as President. She presently holds a directorship with Headwaters Healthcare Centre and the Ontario Agency for Small & Medium Enterprises as well as an advisory position with Seneca College School of Electronic Engineering Technology.
Ian D. MacNair (MBA, CMA, CPA), Chief Financial Officer
Mr. MacNair has extensive global experience in creating multi-billion dollar growth and value in multinational corporations. He has expertise in manufacturing, technology, logistics and real estate. Ian is an experienced corporate financial executive of public and private companies, raising $800 million in capital, running a multi-billion capital raise program and preparing IPOs. Ian has wide ranging experience on Bay and Wall Street, Asia and Europe. Mr. MacNair is a corporate development executive with strong negotiation and strategic planning/execution skills, completing over $4.7 billion in international mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, alliances and public/private partnerships. He is a financial executive who has managed all aspects of a company's international financial requirements including investor relations, statutory reporting, tax, treasury, pension, information systems, budgeting and accounting. Mr. MacNair also serves as the Chairman of the Board for Variety – A Children's Charity.
Howard Roberts (MEng, MBA), Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Roberts is a seasoned Operations Executive that has specialized in Change Management, start-ups, turnarounds, and building for the future. Most recently, Howard was engaged by IGPC Ethanol, the largest farmer's cooperative in Ontario, to drive start-up performance at their $150 million ethanol plant in Aylmer. Prior to that, Howard acquired and operated a medium sized General Contracting firm based in Ontario with major clients in the food processing and cold chain distribution markets. Howard has also worked for Jungbunzlauer AG, and Parmalat, two large multinationals. At Jungbunzlauer, Howard was engaged to head up a new Canadian manufacturing company and facilitated the construction of the plant and infrastructure facilities, recruiting staff, commissioning, and bringing the plant up to target capacity while ensuring compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements. At Parmalat, Howard was responsible for the consolidation of South Western Ontario operations as part of Parmalat's integration of Beatrice and Ault Foods after acquisition. Howard holds a Masters Degree in Engineering and an MBA from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Glenn Neumann (BCom), Director of Investor Relations
Mr. Neumann is a strategic investor and media relations executive with over 15 years' industry experience. He was previously the Director of Investor Relations at Intellipharmaceutics International Inc., a NASDAQ and TSX listed pharmaceutical company, where he developed the investor and media relations program and established key banking, analyst, investor and media relationships. He has also been a communications and capital raising consultant at Converted Carbon Technologies, a private clean-technology company focused on converting algae to biofuel as a new source of energy. While working as Director of Investor Relations for Vasogen Inc. (2000-2009), he assisted in increasing analyst coverage and securing media coverage with the Globe & Mail, Forbes, Newsweek, CBS TV and CBC TV. Glenn earned his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Sports Administration from Laurentian University and is a senior member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute.
Tracy Fath, Director, Business Development
Ms. Fath has over 20 years sales and marketing experience in the telecommunications and software industries. She launched her career as a Marketing Consultant focusing on the high tech sector capturing an enviable client roster of National Blue Chip accounts such as Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, NEC and Toshiba to name a few. A Subject Matter Expert in her field she actively participated in her memberships in the Direct Marketing Association (US) and Direct Marketing Association of Toronto. Tracy joined a then privately-held software development company in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada as Direct Marketing Manager, effectively leading the North American sales and marketing teams. She was a valued contributor their successful IPO in 1997. Later as Director, Product Marketing, Tracy was responsible for leading the direct and channel marketing teams in North America and Europe. Tracy then joined Telus Corporation before creating GTAW Service and serving as a Managing Partner. The company was very successful providing services to the industrial welding and gas industry.
